A calm early afternoon at Beamer Falls Manor, clouds threaten rain but there is no damper on the events of the day. Evan sits on the floor of the honeymoon suite writing out his morning feelings and dreams for the future to his soon-to-be bride. Their adorable pup, a blind rescue from Mexico, follows him as he moves about getting ready. The groomsmen start to arrive and put on their finishing touches. Much to the laughter of everyone upon realizing that they have no suit jacket in which to put their pocket squares. Evan’s two groomswomen, dear friends from high school, arrive with a hand written love note from Holly. He sits to read it, a quiet moment amidst the chaos in the room, tears springing to his eyes as he tenderly holds the card.
Holly, her mom, and her bridesmaids are relaxed but full of excitement for the day. Her stunning dress hangs as everyone gets the final touches done to their hair and makeup. Their pup joins her on the sofa to spend some of her prep with her. At last, she steps into her gown – one that looks like it was made with her in mind. Her two sisters arrive and we lead them into the room with their eyes closed to give them a sweet reveal of the bride. Holly sits to her her note from Evan, laughing and crying as she reads his sweet words.
The ceremony aisle is lined with potted herbs, a sweet and natural touch to the beautiful property. The wedding party each come up the aisle, taking a seat as Evan and Holly will be joined up front by his two brothers, her brother, and her mom – a lovely gesture to family. Evan’s eyes fill with tears as he spots her. Holly is escorted to the end of the aisle by her dad, mom and stepdad. Each received a strong hug before proceeding up the aisle, then Holly herself walked to join her soon-to-be husband at the altar. Evan’s parents include a small Jewish blessing and Holly’s grandmother does a blessing for the lovely couple. The rings are exchanged, the papers are signed, a big first kiss for their guests. Holly and Evan together break the glass to celebrate their new marriage.
After the ceremony, Holly greets her 102-year-old GREAT grandmother who was able to attend. Being blind, she runs her hands across Holly’s dress, feeling all of the intricate beadwork. Holly’s mom describes to her how Holly’s hair looks, using her hands to brush her grandmother’s face softly.
With the family portraits and wedding party portraits complete, we feel the first few sprinkles of rain. We soon seek shelter in the trees on the property and find the most beautiful light.
Dinner begins with incredible food and wonderful speeches at the long, simple harvest tables in the tent. The party is moved inside to the gorgeous Manor and the dancing begins. Or rather, the singing for Holly and her dad! They put on a great lip sync show for their guests. After a sweet and lively dance with Evan and his mom, Holly sneaks away to change into her reception dress. The newly married couple do a fabulous choreographed first dance before slipping out into the night to grab some final portraits under the string lights.
I can not say enough how thankful I am to have been a part of such an incredible day full of love and celebration! Congratulations to you both <3
