It threatened rain for the whole weekend leading up to their wedding. But on the morning of their wedding, it was overcast and grey instead, with the threat of rain not rearing it’s head until later in the day.
Jack and his groomsmen gathered in one of the cabins at Port Cunnington Lodge in beautiful Muskoka. They outfitted themselves in their camo vests and ties, filled their gifted flasks, then walked out to the boathouse overlooking the lake. His parents arrived and after putting on his boutonniere, his dad gave him his grandfather’s ring to wear for his wedding day.
In a cabin a short walk away, Jenna and her bridesmaids began prepping for the festivities. I loved Jenna’s camo shoes, which she made herself! She stepped into her beautiful wedding gown and the girls popped the bubbly to toast this celebration.
Their family and friends gathered on the covered dock overlooking the gorgeous calm lake and many happy tears were shed as their said their vows.
After portraits with the bridal party, Jack and Jenna hiked out to the rocky point. The sky was incredibly dramatic as the storm moved in closer. Jenna removed her shoes to be able to navigate easier on the rocks (love a barefoot bride!!). The serenity of the lake, the beautiful colours, and my sweet couple made my heart swoon.
As we head inside for the reception, the skies finally decided to open and it poured. Perfect timing! The reception was filled with many personal details of this outdoorsy couple (how cute is their cake?!). With heartfelt speeches and toasts complete, Jack and Jenna shared a second first dance while her dad played the piano and sung. It was such a beautiful moment. The father/daughter & mother/son dances and a special dance between Jack and his sister all opened the dance floor to the lively guests. And as they danced the night away, I found a sweet moment of Jack dancing with his grandmother that was beyond endearing as she danced and laughed with him.
It was truly an honour and privilege to be a part of your day! xo
